Project Overview

We collaborated with Molo to build a smart, emotionally intelligent, and proactive support system designed for modern family life. Molo’s mission is to dismantle the mental, emotional, and logistical demands the "modern load" that parents carry everywhere. They needed a robust, cross-platform mobile application to serve as an everyday operating system to help families share responsibilities and reduce decision fatigue.

The Challenge

• The Modern Parenting Burden:Today’s parents are expected to plan, coordinate, and anticipate everything while working full-time jobs, with 71% of the mental load disproportionately falling on mothers.
• Outdated Family Management: Family life is still largely managed using systems built for another era, resulting in high friction, decision fatigue, and the emergence of a "default parent."
• Frictionless Data Entry: To truly relieve the mental load, the app needed a way for parents to input school letters, calendar dates, and chores with zero friction—without tedious manual typing.
• Scalable Infrastructure: Molo required a secure and highly scalable backend to handle real family data seamlessly in the background.

The Solution

• Tailor-Made Mobile Application: We developed a cross-platform app that acts as invisible support, working in the background to provide clear processes and systems for shared family ownership.
• Intelligent Data Extraction: We integrated Google's Gemini AI to allow parents to simply take photos of physical documents (like school newsletters or birthday invitations) and automatically extract the relevant information, dates, and tasks into the family system.
• Robust Backend & API: Built a secure and highly performant backend architecture that seamlessly manages family data and synchronizes state across multiple caregivers' devices in real-time.
• User-Centric Design: Implemented streamlined interfaces designed to reduce decision fatigue and make the mental load more visible and easier to carry.

The Results

• Successful Beta Launch: Delivered a highly functional product that allowed Molo to confidently launch their waitlist into beta and build a community around their vision.
• Innovative Feature Set: The AI-powered photo extraction successfully eliminated the tedious manual entry that plagues traditional productivity apps, directly addressing the client's goal of reducing friction.
